1. Overview

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Linguo.me (the “Service”), operated by Linguome (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is provided for language learning purposes and is available worldwide.
The minimum age to use the Service is the same as set by OpenAI for its services (currently 13+ with any additional local legal requirements).

2. Accounts

• Registration is available via email/password, Google, or Apple login.
• Only one account per person is allowed.
• Accounts may be deleted if inactive (no login or usage) for over one year.
• You may delete your account at any time via the app; this will remove your data from active systems.

3. Use of the Service

You agree not to:

• Harass, abuse, or harm others.
• Post, share, or use hateful, obscene, or unlawful content.
• Spam or distribute unsolicited communications.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or exploit the Service’s code, models, or infrastructure.
• Perform security testing without permission.
• Misuse AI outputs (e.g., presenting them as factual in critical contexts).

4. Content & Intellectual Property

• Our Content: All learning materials we provide are proprietary and licensed for personal, non-commercial use only.
• Your Content: You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, revocable license to process, store, and display any content you upload (e.g., text, images, audio) solely to provide the Service.
• AI Content: Some outputs are generated by AI (currently OpenAI models). We do not guarantee accuracy. You are responsible for verifying information before relying on it. The Service is for educational purposes only.

5. Payments

Currently the Service is free. When premium features launch:

• Web payments will be processed via Stripe, subject to UK/EU consumer law, including the 14-day cooling-off period unless you start using the service immediately.
• App payments will be processed via Apple App Store or Google Play, subject to their respective policies.

6. Data Processing & AI Use

• Some user data, including uploads, may be sent to AI providers (currently OpenAI) for processing.
• We instruct providers not to use your data for model training where possible.

7. Service Availability & Changes

• The Service is provided “as is” without any warranty.
• We may impose fair use limits to maintain system stability.
• We may update these Terms at any time; the latest version will always be available on our website.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kyrgyzstan. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of Kyrgyzstan.
